Venus

with a-focal system hand held digital camera. Located Venus by its coordinates only 10 degrees away from the sun.   Telescope needed a long dew cap to prevent the sun from hitting the mirror. 12 August, two days before conjunction.

‘Crooked Crescent’  Moonset from La Palma (as seen on SpaceWeather) .... taken with the Canon 350 and my new 80mm/480mm Meade triplet apochromat on piggy back over the Meade 8-inch tracking for 10 second exposures. Clear sky to the very horizon was crucial, only from the top of La Palma.© Dr Francisco Diego UCL
