The Greenwich Winter Olympics — February 2, 2009

Instead of being treated to a talk by Prof Ian Morison, we were able to watch ‘the winter Olympics’.   A little snow brought London to a grinding halt.  The buses were withdrawn (!), schools closed, and the trains and DLR juddered to a halt.  Whatever will we do if we get some real weather?    Detroit Met Airport has more snow-ploughs than all of Greater London.   The kids (and many Mums and Dads too), loved the time off in the snow.

This picture spread from Ian McDowell.
